Crazy Cave Shooting Gallery in Stourport on Severn

Spotting a Crazy Cave Shooting Gallery at Playland Fun Park in Stourport on Severn.

Crazy Cave Shooting Gallery at Playland Fun Park in Stourport on Severn

I'm a big fan of the traditional seaside shooting shack and so I was pleased to find one I'd never seen before at Playland Fun Park in Stourport. We were in town to play the Crazy Golf courses and noticed the shooting gallery between the two kiosks. It was quite different to the classic 'Old Zeke' style we normally see on on our travels.

It's not a true shooting shack unless it's got a lavvy to unlock!

For a landlocked town Stourport on Severn has a lot of amusements, minigolf courses and attractions! We're looking forward to another visit to the town.

Scarface's shooting gallery in Blackpool

While visiting Blackpool in October we spotted Scarface's shooting shack was still in the amusement arcade on the South Pier and had to give it a play. Just like in 2008.

We also spotted a new sign on the shooting gallery wall!

Indoor Pirate Adventure Golf in Whitby

Playing the updated Pirate Adventure Golf course at Whitby's Pleasure Island Amusement Arcade.

We love visiting Whitby in North Yorkshire and on our last trip to the seaside town we revisited the Pleasure Island Amusement Arcade. We were quite surprised to find that the Adventure Golf course we had played on our previous trip had changed a lot!

In March 2014 the indoor Pirate Adventure Golf course had become the 327th course played on the Crazy World of Minigolf Tour. And with the significant changes it also became the 386th played!

Hole 8 used to be the 1st

As well as the addition of some new holes - notably the first - most of the course had actually been reversed. Crazy!

Check out the photos of the course as it was on our most recent play of the course in August 2015, and how it looked in March 2014.

In our match-up on the course Emily smashed me 18 to 25.

Indoor Pirate Adventure Golf in Whitby

Playing the Indoor Pirate Adventure Golf course at Whitby's Pleasure Island Amusement Arcade.

On Thursday 20th March 2014 Emily and I decided to head to the seaside resort of Whitby, one of the east coast towns we were yet to visit on our tour of the UK seaside.

We hadn't planned to visit Whitby on our road-trip that saw us take a journey up to Newcastle Upon Tyne and back over four days, but having had a stopover in Northallerton we decided to make the relatively short trip to spend some time beside the seaside.

While walking along the harbour-side towards the beach the signs for the indoor Pirate Adventure Golf course at the Pleasure Island Amusement Arcade caught my eye!

You will find the 9-hole course laid out in the left-hand corner of the well presented arcade.

On our travels we've visited and played at well over 500 courses and 30+ have been indoors. We thought the look and feel of the course at Pleasure Island was very well done. It was very piratey and nautical and when you climbed the stairs to the top deck of the course (hole 5) you'd never know you were in an amusement arcade in North Yorkshire!

It's well worth a play and is only £2 a round.

Our fellow Minigolfer Adventurers Paul and Owen Johnson visited the course in 2010 and you can see their photos on the excellent MiniatureGolfer.com. The course appears to have had a refurb since then.

The Pleasure Island Adventure Golf course is well worth a play if you're in Whitby and it's great to be able to have a Putt there whatever the weather.

The course was the 544th visited and 327th played on the Crazy World of Minigolf Tour since 2006.

In our match-up I beat Emily, putting her to the sword 20 vs. 32. But she made me walk the plank!

The amusement arcade is also home to that other seaside favourite - the shooting gallery.

Hillbilly Shooting Shack in Portobello & Joppa - Edinburgh's seaside

While on our mini-holiday to Edinburgh we found a Hillbilly Shooting Shack in one of the two amusement arcades in Portobello & Joppa.

The amusement arcade looked like it used to be much bigger and we also found a sign that pointed us in the direction of the now non-existent Fun Park.

Hillbilly Shoot Out Shooting Shack at the Pleasure Beach Gardens in Great Yarmouth

While on our seaside break in Great Yarmouth I had a play on one of my all-time favourite seaside amusements, a Hillbilly Shoot Out Shooting Shack at the Pleasure Beach Gardens in Great Yarmouth.

A Selection of Seaside Shooting Shacks...

It wouldn't be a trip to a seaside resort without playing a Hill Billy Shooting Shack!

Cleethorpes.

 Skegness.

Ingoldmells.

Hunstanton.

While it wasn't a Shooting Shack, this target game in the Vegas Amusement Arcade in Hunstanton was certainly different!

We also spotted a new type of Arm Wrestling Game in one amusement arcade in Cleethorpes.

Brighton Marina Adventure Golf - Minigolf Course Played #224

A visit to the Pirates Cove Adventure Golf course in Brighton.

Photo of the Pirates Cove Adventure Golf course in Brighton

The 224th course played on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour was at Brighton Marina at the 12-hole Pirates Cove Adventure Golf course we had heard about from fellow minigolfers Paul & Owen Johnson and Peter Emmerson. They had told us tales of how short and small some of the holes were, and they were right!

Photo of the Pirates Cove Adventure Golf course in Brighton

The theming of the course is good, and very Pirate-y, but some of the holes are incredibly short - in fact the are some of the smallest we have ever seen on our Minigolf travels! Hole 10 is particularly interesting as it is hardly a hole at all!?

I was also pleased to see a Shooting Shack right next to the course, as they're one of my other favourite things to have a go on at the seaside.

In our Irregular Mini Golf Tour match-up Emily defeated me by one shot.
