Minigolf Spot-the-Ball competition

Picking up a prize in a Splash Point Mini Golf course online competition.

Emily recently used her years of minigolf knowledge and experience to claim first-place in the Splash Point Mini Golf 'Spot-the-Ball' contest!

Emily won a decommissioned flag from Splash Point Mini Golf. The course has now introduced new red flags

Splash Point Mini Golf is an 18-hole course in Worthing's Denton Gardens. The game has been played on the site since the 1920's, with the Splash Point Mini Golf course a new addition to the town's attractions in 2010.

The course was the 181st played on our tour and we've revisited a number of times since. It's well worth a visit.

Splash Point Mini Golf has hosted a number of tournaments since opening and the layout is a real test of minigolf skill. Check out the great video from the 2012 British Masters filmed by the team at 2dogimaging.

Visit the Splash Point Mini Golf website for more details. The @Worthing_Golf Twitter feed is also worth following as there are frequent reports on local weather conditions, just in case you turn-up in Sunny Worthing to find the course closed owing to inclement weather.

Splash Point Mini Golf in Worthing

A revisit to the Splash Point Mini Golf course in Worthing.

On Saturday 25th July 2015 we revisited sunny Worthing in West Sussex to compete in the Splash Point Open tournament held on the 18-hole Splash Point Mini Golf course just off the seafront at the town's Denton Gardens.

Back in 2010 the course became the 181st visited on the Crazy World of Minigolf Tour and we've returned a number of times since then for both competitions and fun rounds.

Since the course opened in 2010 it's been a great addition to the seaside resort. Over the years the owners Anthony and Peter have added some classic Crazy Golf obstacles including a windmill and loop-di-loop, as well as keeping the layout very well maintained.

Miniature Golf has been played in Denton Gardens since the 1920's and it's a great location for a game. Check out the Splash Point Mini Golf website, Twitter and Facebook for opening times, prices and further info.

The tournament was won by Oxford’s Michael Smith who defeated Hove’s Peter Emmerson in a sudden-death play-off after both players had scored totals of 100.

Richard said “I always enjoy visiting Worthing and Splash Point Mini Golf, even though it’s an incredibly tough course. After the terrible start to my second round I was pleased to shoot par on my final round.”

Emily said “Splash Point Mini Golf is a great course to play, with some very ace-able holes, but some which can be killers. I managed to go from one extreme to another, with a lot of holes-in-one, but some really bad hole scores as well. I let myself down on the final round but was happy with my first two rounds.”

Splash Point Mini Golf is one of my favourite courses and I always enjoy a trip to the town to have a round on the course. We've visited Worthing quite a lot over the last few years and it's all because of Splash Point Mini Golf.

Splash Point Mini Golf in Worthing - Crazy World of Minigolf Tour - Course Visit #181

The home of the 2010 BMGA British Matchplay Championships, Splash Point Mini Golf at Denton Gardens in Worthing, West Sussex is a brand new 18-hole Minigolf course, designed and built by two BMGA Tour Members - Anthony Pope and Peter Emmerson.

The visit to the excellent course was number 181 on the Crazy World of Minigolf Tour. The photos below show the course as it was when we first arrived late on Friday 2nd July, on Saturday 3rd July, and on tournament-day Sunday 4th July.

It's a brilliant (and tough course), and well worth a visit. Anthony and Peter have put a lot of hard work into setting up the course and it's a real asset to Worthing. I'm sure if you pop by Anthony or Peter would be happy to give out some top tips. And if you're a local you could also join the Splash Point Mini Golf Club (SPMGC).
