The Mini Masters miniature golf tournament in Manchester

Looking back at the 'Mini Masters' miniature golf tournament in Manchester.

I won the Mini Masters miniature golf tournament in Manchester back on the 11th April 2009. Time certainly flies!

The Mini Masters was the first of two tournaments I won on the 9-hole Championship Miniature Golf course at what was then Playgolf Manchester. The second event being the Miniature Open in July 2009.

I won the Mini Masters with a three round total of 81 (-24) after scoring 26, 27, and 28.

The course was the 84th played on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour. Back then the course wasn't one of our local layouts as we still lived in Luton and travelled up for the events.

The Championship Miniature Golf course is no longer at the centre, but you can find an expanded Championship Miniature Golf layout with two 18-hole courses in New Brighton. The location is no longer a Playgolf venue either. It's now known as the Trafford Golf Centre and is home to two 18-hole dinosaur adventure golf courses. I won the Dino Falls Masters Adventure Golf competition there in 2018 too!

Mini Majors at MiniLinks in Lytham St Annes

The MiniLinks course in Lytham St Annes hosts competitions on its Par 3 Golf Course throughout the year, with special Mini Majors held to coincide with the big major tournaments in golf. Next up is the Mini US Open from the 15th to 18th June, with the Mini Open Championship in July and the Mini PGA Championship in August.

Everyone is welcome to participate in the Mini Masters events regardless of background, ability or skill.

The MiniLinks course at Lytham St Annes is open all year round. Check out the MiniLinks website and competition page for more info, opening times and prices.

The Crazy Golf course at the MiniLinks golf centre in Lytham St Annes was the 48th played on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour way back in April 2008.

Since then I've heard the Crazy Golf area has been improved and a Pennines Putting course has been added. I'm looking forward to a return visit to play the three layouts at MiniLinks.

'Mini Majors' Adventure Golf at Northwick Park in Harrow

A revisit and replay of the Miniature Golf course at Northwick Park, Harrow.

Following my BIG Golf match win at Stanmore & Edgware Golf Club Emily and I headed to Northwick Park in nearby Harrow to play the 9-hole 'Mini Majors' Adventure Golf Course.

Emily won the Northwick Park Challenge competition as part of the Irregular Mini Golf Tour with a cracking score of 59 over two rounds (including a 24) on the tough course (which contains many long and winding holes). I scored a total of 66, after rounds of 35 and 31.

The conditions were very cold, with all of the water features frozen!

We had previously visited the course on the Crazy World of Minigolf Tour back in July 2008 when it was the 59th Minigolf course we played.

While at Northwick Park I also had a play on the TopPutt machine - scoring a pitiful 101!
