Our recent trip to Southampton saw us visit 18 more courses, playing eight of them. One of the courses we had a round on was the Jungle Safari Adventure Golf course at the Ravenmeadow Golf Centre in Worcester.

The 18-hole course was the 868th visited and 509th played on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour.

We visited on a drizzly Friday lunchtime in May, so were lucky to have the course to ourselves.

We enjoyed our round on the large miniature golf layout. Some of the holes are very long, with wide greens.

In our minigolf match on the Jungle Safari Adventure Golf course I won with a score of 45 to Emily's 50.

New minigolf video with The Putter King

One of my minigolf arch-rivals and I have collaborated on a new hole-in-one video. Check it out on 'The Putter King' Allan Cox's YouTube Channel.

My antipodean rival and friend has been YouTubing since 2011. Our fierce rivalry began during the worldwide Putter King Miniature Golf Scavenger Hunt in 2012! Allan won that.

Check out Allan's YouTube Channel for stacks of other minigolf and Putt-Putt videos - including his most popular upload which has received more than 4m views!

Trade On Tap Hole-in-One challenge at CIH Housing 2016 Exhibition

Trade On Tap (Plumb Center and Parts Center) Hole-in-One challenge at CIH Housing 2016 Exhibition.

The Plumb Center and Parts Center stand was a Mini Golf hole!

I was recently at the CIH Housing Exhibition in Manchester and wouldn't you know it - there was a Mini Golf hole there!

Needless to say - I nailed my first shot

And won all this merch!

One of these is headed to Martin Vallance's MASSIVE collection of logo golf balls

Putting courses and obstacles are a popular gimmick at trade shows and exhibitions. Way back in May 2007 I played an UrbanCrazy minigolf hole at the International Direct Marketing Fair at Earl's Court.

Lyle & Scott's Hole-in-One Challenge

Playing the special Minigolf Hole-in-One Challenge at Lyle & Scott's Carnaby Street shop in London.

All this week the clothing brand Lyle & Scott has had a special Hole-in-One Minigolf Challenge set up at the flagship store on Carnaby Street. The layout has been supplied by Urban Crazy.

On my lunch-break yesterday I popped along with fellow Minigolfer Gareth 'Osmosis' Holmes and my old Dodgeball rival 'Rowdy' Russell Fenner as we tried our luck on the tricky challenge that had been set-up as a promotion for The Masters golf tournament.

Adam from Urban Crazy was on-hand at the hole to instruct players about the challenge and we saw him knock in a couple of good holes-in-one.

Each player was given three attempts to register a hole-in-one and win a prize. Both winners and losers could make use of a discount on the day too for purchases in-store.

Small swing and a big miss for 'Rowdy' Russell on the Lyle and Scott challenge

Unfortunately none of us managed to score an Ace - and we won't be sporting a Lyle & Scott polo shirt this weekend. We did see a couple of other players manage the feat though, to a ripple of applause from the crowds in the bustling street.

You can still play the special Hole-in-One Challenge hole this week. Follow Lyle & Scott and the Lyle & Scott Golf Team for more info.

Back in October 2012 Lyle and Scott and The Campaign for Wool created a special Woolly Golf course in Covent Garden for that years Wool Week. That course became the 511th visited and 307th played on the Crazy World of Minigolf Tour since 2006.

A 'perfect' round of 9(-9) on a Crazy Golf course by Minigolfer Richard Gottfried

At the 241st Minigolf course we played on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour I managed to score a 'Perfect' round of 9(-9) by hitting 9 holes-in-one in a row!

This 'feat' was achieved on the 9-hole Crazy Golf course at Bainland Country Park, near Woodhall Spa, Lincolnshire.

Video evidence of the 'achievement'.

The layout of the holes on the course 'greens' was a first for us on the Crazy World of Minigolf Tour. Instead of one hole, they had five cups to shoot into!? Without a scorecard/instructions to explain the course specific rules, Emily and I played a round, scoring normally with one stroke scored for each shot to get the ball into a hole, and then also totalling up the scores on points (each cup had a point score ranging from 1-5) - with the lowest score winning. On both counts Emily was victorious in the Irregular Mini Golf Tour contests. We have played this fibreglass type of Crazy Golf many times on our tours before, in fact there is a version of this course in Luton's Wardown Park.

The aim in any round of competition minigolf is to score as many holes-in-one as possible, with Par for each hole regarded as two shots. Many courses have their own Par system, with some holes being a Par-3, 4 or 5.

European WMF standardised Miniature Golf (Eternit) courses enable players to score perfect rounds of 18(-18) as there is an 'Ace Line' on each hole. The minigolf website Minigolfnews.com holds records of such achievements and states that almost 300 players have achieved perfect rounds of 18 on Eternit Miniature Golf! In the UK our Crazy Golf, Minigolf, Putting and Adventure Golf courses do not allow for such low scores due to the design and build of the course.

My best competition score on an 18-hole Eternit Miniature Golf course came in 2008 when I competed for Great Britain in the WMF Nations Cup in Tampere, Finland. I scored a 39(+3) in the fourth of my four rounds on the surface in the competition. Such is the rarity of these courses in the UK that these are the only four full competition rounds I have ever played on Eternit! The UK is home to some Eternit-type Miniature Golf courses, but many have had felt added, or are in very poor condition due to their fragile nature.

The lowest ever score on an 18-hole Adventure Golf-type Miniature Golf course on UK soil was actually scored quite recently, by Oleg Klassen of Germany, in the 2011 WMF World Adventure Golf Masters in Hastings, in May 2011, when he scored a 24(-12).

Rick Baird, USA, who plays the Putt Putt version of Minigolf recently scored only the third-ever perfect round of 18(-18) in the Professional Putters Association.

My best competition score on an 18-hole Minigolf course was at the 2010 BMGA National Open at Star City where I scored a 28(-8).

My best competition score on a 12-hole Minigolf course is 24(par), which came in my win of the 2009 Blackpool Pleasure Beach Open tournament.

Back in August 2009 I was looking good for a low score on a 9-hole Crazy Golf course in Towyn, Wales, but hit some threes and was left thinking, what could have been?

Crazy World of Minigolf Tour - Course Played #46 Blackpool (Pleasure Beach) - Adventure Golf (Old 'Alpine Golf'')

During a break in the training for the inaugural Blackpool Pleasure Beach Open in April 2008, me, Emily and fellow BMGA Tour player Andy 'Sarge' Booth went into the Pleasure Beach itself to visit and play the 'Alpine Golf' Crazy Golf course.

A fun course, with incredibly BIG cups/holes for a Minigolf course!
